01 Who and what
r3v3ng3.dev is an independent software project that publishes software and occasionally sells licences for it ("we", "us"). You can reach us at admin@r3v3ng3.dev.
These terms cover the website, the programs, mods and tools published here ("the Software"), their updates, the Discord server and bot, and the licences sold for premium releases. If a program ships with its own licence file, that file applies to that program in addition to these terms; if the two conflict, the program's own licence wins.
02 Licence
The Software is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted stay with us.
- Free releases: you may download, install and use them for personal or commercial purposes, free of charge.
- Premium releases: a valid licence key lets you use the programs it covers, on the number of devices stated with it, for its duration (or for life, for lifetime keys). The key is personal: do not share, resell or publish it. Keys that are shared, leaked or used fraudulently can be suspended or revoked.
- Unless a program's own licence says otherwise, you may not resell, rent, redistribute or re-upload the Software, remove its licence checks or notices, or reverse engineer it except where the law expressly allows it.
- None of this restricts the open-source components inside the Software (see Third-party components): they stay under their own licences, including any right those licences give you to study, modify or replace them.
- Releases whose source is published under an open-source licence (for example MIT or Apache 2.0) follow that licence instead of this section.
03 Acceptable use
We publish general-purpose tools. We have no control over how, where or why anyone uses them once downloaded, and we do not monitor their use. You may use the Software only for lawful purposes and only on systems, accounts, data, networks, games and servers that you own or are explicitly authorised to use.
You must not use the Software, alone or combined with anything else, to:
- break any law or regulation of the country where you are or where its effects are felt;
- access, damage, disrupt or overload computers, networks, accounts or services without authorisation;
- collect, intercept or process other people's personal data, messages or credentials without a lawful basis;
- commit fraud, spread malware or spam, harass people, or infringe copyright, trademarks or other rights;
- break the terms of service, rules or anti-cheat policies of games, platforms or servers;
- build, train or support any of the above.
You alone are responsible for how you use the Software and for any consequence of that use. Any unlawful, malicious or unauthorised use is done without our knowledge, consent or participation, and its responsibility lies entirely with whoever carries it out. We may suspend or revoke, without refund, the licence and the access of anyone who misuses the Software, and we cooperate with competent authorities when the law requires it.
04 No warranty
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, compatibility, security and non-infringement.
We test every release before publishing it, but no software is free of bugs, and every computer, game, server and setup is different. We do not guarantee that the Software will run without interruption or errors, that it will work with your hardware, operating system, games, mods, anti-cheat systems or third-party services, or that it will stay compatible after their updates. You use it at your own risk. This section does not limit any right that the law gives you as a consumer and that cannot be excluded.
05 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall r3v3ng3.dev be liable for any claim, damages or other liability, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, arising from, out of or in connection with the Software, its download, installation or use, or its use by third parties, including loss of data, files or saves, damage to or malfunction of hardware or software, system crashes, security incidents, downtime, loss of profits or revenue, game or server bans, account suspensions, fines or legal consequences of your own conduct, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the licence concerned in the twelve months before the event (zero for free releases). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
06 Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to hold r3v3ng3.dev harmless from any claim, loss, fine or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by third parties or authorities that results from your breach of these terms, from your unlawful or unauthorised use of the Software, or from your violation of someone else's rights.
07 Antivirus and Windows warnings
Our programs are not signed with a paid code-signing certificate (an expensive yearly certificate that independent developers often do without). Because of this, and because new programs have no download "reputation" yet, Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC", and some antivirus programs may flag a file as unknown or suspicious. The licence protection of premium releases can also trigger generic, heuristic detections. These are false positives caused by the lack of a signature, not by harmful code.
- Download the Software only from r3v3ng3.dev or links we publish. Copies found elsewhere may have been altered.
- Each release page shows the file's SHA-256 fingerprint. Check it before running the file: on Windows,
certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256; on Linux/macOS,sha256sum <file>. If it doesn't match, don't run it and tell us. - On SmartScreen, More info → Run anyway starts the program. Whether to run it, or to add an exception to your antivirus, is your decision: if in doubt, don't run it and ask us first, or scan it with a service such as VirusTotal.
We cannot control how Windows or antivirus vendors classify files and we accept no liability for their warnings, quarantines or deletions, or for the consequences of disabling protections on your system.
08 Your part
- Keep backups of your data, saves and server files before installing or updating any software, mod or plugin.
- Check that the Software, mods and tools are allowed by the rules of the games, platforms and servers where you use them: you use them at your own risk.
- Keep your licence key private and your system up to date.
09 Third-party components
Our programs include open-source libraries, fonts and other components made by third parties. They are used under their own licences, which stay in force and prevail over these terms for those components. Every program lists them, with their versions and the full text of their licences, in the file THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt in its installation folder (for r3v3ng3 Browser, also on the page chrome://credits). We can also send you that list, and where a licence requires it the source code of those components, on request at admin@r3v3ng3.dev.
Game names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners: our mods and tools are independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by them. If you believe something we publish infringes your rights, write to us with the details: we will look into it promptly and remove the material if the claim is valid.
10 Purchases & refunds
- Where you buy. Licences are sold by r3v3ng3.dev on our Discord server, paid with PayPal. Where offered, you can also buy on our Tebex store: there Tebex acts as merchant of record (it handles the payment, taxes and chargebacks) under the Tebex checkout terms shown when you pay.
- Price and product. Prices are in euro and final: what you see before you pay is what you pay, with no extra costs from us. The release page of each program describes what it does and what it needs to run (operating system and other requirements).
- Digital content delivered at once. A licence is a key delivered by private message as soon as the payment is confirmed. Before you pay, the bot asks you to accept these terms and to request immediate delivery, and to acknowledge that once the key has been delivered you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal (EU Directive 2011/83/EU, art. 16(m); Italian Consumer Code, art. 59(1)(o)). The message with the key also confirms your order, its price and that acknowledgement.
- If it doesn't work. If a premium program does not work on your system and we cannot fix it, contact us within 14 days of the purchase: we will look at each case fairly and refund where appropriate. This does not limit any legal guarantee that applies to you.
- Chargebacks or refunds obtained through the payment provider suspend the licences involved.
- Time-limited licences end on their expiry date; renewing adds the new period to the same key.
- If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian to buy a licence.
11 Privacy
The data controller is r3v3ng3.dev, reachable at admin@r3v3ng3.dev. We follow one rule: collect as little as possible. There are no user accounts on the website, no profiles, no newsletters, no advertising and no third-party trackers or analytics. We never ask for your address, phone number or ID, we never see card or bank details, and we never sell, rent or share data with anyone for marketing. This is what we keep, why, and for how long:
- Licence checks: the licence key, an anonymous fingerprint of each activated device (a hash, not your hardware details), the device name and platform the program reports, the program version, and the IP address and time of the last check. Used only to make the key work and to stop shared or stolen keys (performance of the licence and our legitimate interest in preventing fraud). Kept as long as the licence exists; you can ask us to delete an expired licence and its data at any time.
- Purchases: your Discord ID and name, the order code, product, price and date; for PayPal payments, the name and email address PayPal shows us with the payment; for Tebex purchases, the email and transaction ID that Tebex sends us. Used to deliver your key, let you recover it, handle refunds and keep the records required by tax law (performance of the purchase and legal obligation). Kept for the period required by tax law.
- Discord server: the bot processes what is needed for the features you use (support tickets and their transcript, warnings and moderation actions, level and message count, suggestions and votes, reminders). Messages are read only to apply the server rules (anti-spam, word filter) and are not saved in our database, except in tickets you open; edited or deleted messages and moderation actions are copied to a private staff channel on Discord (our legitimate interest in running a safe community).
- Website: standard server logs (IP address, page, time) kept for security and deleted automatically after a short period, and aggregated download counters. Only technical cookies are used: one remembers that you accepted these terms before downloading, one keeps you signed in to the licence page. None is used for tracking, so no cookie banner is needed. Videos from YouTube or Vimeo load only when you press play, and from that moment those services receive your data under their own policies.
- Scan page: the privacy scan runs in your browser. Our server shows you the IP address and browser headers it receives with that request, with the country and provider of that address (looked up in a database kept on our server, DB-IP Lite), and does not store them beyond the standard server logs. If you leave the network tests on, your browser contacts public STUN servers (Google, Cloudflare) and the tracker domains listed on the page, as any website would, and those services receive your IP address under their own policies; it also looks up random names on our DNS test server, which keeps the address of the DNS resolver that asked for five minutes, in memory only. The optional cross-site step opens our test page on a second domain (hosted by GitHub Pages, which receives your IP address under its own policy); the values it measures (whether a test cookie was readable, short fingerprint codes, the address sent as referrer) are kept in memory for ten minutes to show them to you, then discarded. The fingerprint ID of your last scan is kept only in your browser.
- Retro page: the games, BIOS files and saves you load there are kept only in your browser's storage on your device, never sent to us, and you can delete them from the page at any time.
- Programs: our programs contact r3v3ng3.dev only to check for updates and, for premium releases, to check the licence as described above. Any other connection a program makes (for example a translation service you choose to use) is explained in that program's own terms.
Who else processes data. The data is kept on our own rented server, with encryption in transit and restricted access. PayPal, Discord and Tebex process the data you give them as independent controllers under their own privacy policies, and may transfer it outside the European Union with the safeguards those policies describe. We share nothing else with anyone, except where the law requires it.
Your rights. You can ask us at any time for access to your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, or to receive it in a portable format (an active licence needs its key and devices to keep working). You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it). We do no profiling. The only automatic decisions are the Discord anti-spam rules, and you can ask the staff to review any of them.
12 Changes & applicable law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and the version in force when you bought a licence keeps applying to that purchase unless the change is in your favour. These terms are governed by Italian law, without prejudice to the mandatory protections of the country where a consumer lives. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
